BASEBALL FITNESS PROGRAM

Many aspiring pitching careers are cut short each year by shoulder or elbow surgery.  The cause of these injuries is usually due to poor throwing motions (mechanics) or physical limitations.  With the growing trend toward year-round baseball leagues pitchers are throwing more and resting less.  Add in physically underdeveloped kids throwing breaking balls with poor mechanics and you have a recipe for disaster!

Athletic Development Center

The National Pitching Association (NPA) has been conducting research on the most effective way to throw a baseball.  Utilizing 3D analyses they have determined the elite pitchers in the game use common movement patterns.  The Athletic Development Center uses the same 3D analysis to compare your throwing motion with that of the pros.  We then perform functional movement screens to determine if your throwing motion “faults” are the result of physical limitations in strength, flexibility, balance, or power.  A Physical Therapist/Strength and Conditioning Specialist then prescribes an exercise program that eliminates these limitations and perfects a safe, effective throwing motion.  Since the NPA is the foremost leader in throwing research the ADC works closely with their instructors to ensure the player receives the most accurate information available to improve performance.
